Kevin Lau

Pastor, Cantonese Congregation

Kevin Lau grew up in Macao and Hong Kong. He became a Christian while attending college in the United States. As a result, he has a passion to reach out and to disciple Cantonese speaking college students and young adults. He also has a great burden to reach out to the Cantonese community in the Baltimore-DC area. He was a member of the church planting team of CBCCP where he has been serving since 1988 in various ministries. Through serving, he experienced God’s tremendous blessings in his spiritual growth and in the growth of CBCCP.

He dedicated his life to serve God full time in 1989. In 1999, he responded to God’s call to attend Capital Bible Seminary to get his theological training. His vision for ministry is to cultivate a spiritual environment in which seekers can come to know the eternal God, and believers can grow in Christ and serve together as a family regardless of their age and background.

His biblical role model is the apostle Paul. His desire is to learn from Paul who dedicated his life wholeheartedly to serve God. God’s inspired word in Paul’s letters has been always an encouragement and challenge to him. His two favorite verses are:

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me – the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.” (Acts 20:24)

He loves to meet new friends and invite you to come to experience God’s love and grace, and to grow in His truth.
